Thermal Imaging in the equine industry has been utilised for over 40 years. However, the technology has only recently gained the recognition it deserves. Infrared cameras have improved, procedures have been standardised and vets and practitioners have become familiar with interpretation of the images. We cover thermal imaging in Holistic Horses Hoof Care Practical Courses and students are always excited to see how the images show things that connect with possible lameness, injuries and even the early warning signs of laminitis. I am certified in equine thermal imaging and bring my camera with me to live appointments and clinics.
